Swiss Red Cross painting from 2010, painted by Julia Saner

100th anniversary of Dunant's death

Original oil painting by Julia Saner. 40cm x 40cm on canvas. Signed Press report: Works by the Dalai Lama, Micheline Calmy-Rey and many other well-known personalities to be auctioned. Coop and the Dunant Year 2010 association called on celebrities to interpret the world-famous Red Cross on canvas. On the 100th anniversary of the death of Henry Dunant – the Red Cross founder – the Dalai Lama, all Swiss Federal Councillors, Carl Lewis, Ursus & Nadeschkin, as well as many other well-known figures from business, politics, sports and culture took up brushes. Coop CEO Hansueli Loosli also got creative and painted the Red Cross on canvas. The nearly 60 resulting paintings were auctioned in 2010.

In consultation with the Swiss Red Cross in Zurich, 60% of the proceeds after the sale will be donated to the Swiss Red Cross in the buyer's name (the receipt, payment to the SRC, will be sent directly with the painting to the new owner).
